Turkey closed the year 2019 as the world’s largest flour exporter. While Iraq’s share in Turkey’s overall flour exports was 50% in 2018, it dropped to 40% in the first ten months of 2019. Turkey’s flour exports climbed by 11.5 percent to 493 million dollars in the January-June 2021 period, reaching 1 million 413 thousand tons, a 2.5 percent gain on an amount basis. Having achieved much better export rates compared to 2020, Turkey aims to reach even better export figures in the future.
